Hüzün

2018 - ongoing I Hegenheim I Bern
For her thesis in Fine Arts, IPek intensely researched the different shades of sorrow. As her way to recover from burn-out was to heal herself through songs, this research took more than a year. During this period she had regular performances in cooperation with the musicians of Inside the Baxter Building. Here, she sang and danced on the stage mostly expressing grief, sorrow, hüzün, acı, Trauer, Kummer, bánat, bú. As a part of her thesis, she focused on three of these emotions and wrote poetic texts about them.
Since the long way from her gloomy sorrow back to life was escorted by lullabies, traditional mourning and curse songs, her knowledge about healing melodies became pretty deep.
